This e-bike recall concerns the Class 2 Sinch.2 Folding Electric Bicycles, known for their foldable 500w design. Available in silver (quicksilver) and blue (sapphire) colors, these e-bikes feature foldable handlebars and front and rear tires. They are identifiable by the “Aventon” branding on the downtube and “Sinch.2” on the chain stay.

These e-bikes were sold at bicycle stores nationwide and online through BestBuy.com and Eriksbikeshop.com. Sales took place from April 2023 through August 2023, retailing for approximately $1,800.
Safety Hazard Identified
The e-bike recall was initiated due to a risk of accelerating unexpectedly, which can lead to loss of control, posing crash and injury hazards.
Recall Remedy and Consumer Action
For safety, consumers should immediately cease using the recalled e-bikes. A free repair, including a software update to the controller, is available by contacting a Ride Aventon authorized dealer to schedule this service.

Incident Reports
To date, there have been six reports of the e-bikes accelerating unexpectedly. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
