Recall Date: February 01, 2024

Product Description

This recall specifically targets the Box One Oversized 31.8 Delta bicycle stems, which are essential for clamping the fork steerer and/or handlebars. The bolts used in the stems measure 6 mm in diameter and 20 mm in length, and the stems come in black, red, blue, gold, purple, and silver. They were sold as separate components, not as part of complete bicycles.

Sales Information

The recalled bicycle stems were available for purchase through BMX Race dealers across the nation and online at Box Components’ official website from January 2023 to October 2023. Each stem was sold separately at approximately $100.

Safety Hazard Identified

The stems’ faceplate is prone to cracking and breaking, which can result in the handlebars loosening unexpectedly. This defect significantly increases the risk of the rider losing control, leading to potential injuries in the event of a crash.
