New Age Industries Furniture Tip Kit Recall for Tip-Over Hazard
New Age Industries has announced a furniture tip kit recall due to a significant safety hazard. The plastic zip ties in these kits, designed to secure furniture to walls, can break, posing a risk of furniture tipping over and causing potential harm, especially to children. This recall is a critical safety measure to prevent accidents.
Recall Date: January 11, 2024
Product Description
The recalled products are New Age Industries furniture tip restraint kits. These plastic kits include a zip-tie, two brackets, and two screws, and are used with clothing storage units. The units were sold with furniture from multiple companies. The packaging is white with black lettering and instructions for anchoring furniture.

Sales Information
These kits have been sold nationwide at various furniture stores and online since November 2019.
Safety Hazard Identified
The furniture tip kit recall hazard stems from the plastic zip tie becoming brittle or breaking. If the tie breaks, it can cause the furniture, especially heavy clothing storage units, to tip over. This poses a significant tip-over and entrapment hazard, particularly dangerous for children, potentially leading to serious injuries or even death.
Tip Kit Recall Remedy and Consumer Action
Consumers should immediately verify if their clothing storage unit was manufactured in November 2019 or later. If the unit uses a plastic tip kit, they are advised to contact Alliance4Safety for a free replacement kit. Meanwhile, it’s crucial to keep children away from the affected furniture.
Manufacturing Details
The furniture tip kits were manufactured by New Age Industries Co. LTD, located in Vietnam, and were included with clothing storage units produced since November 2019.
Incident Reports
There have been two reports of these tip kits breaking, but fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
